Château Figeac is an almost magical name for the lovers of great Bordeaux wines. The rise to the elite of Bordeaux châteaux began in the 19th century, and in view of the exceptional qualities produced at Château Figeac, the fantastically beautiful château found its way into the St. Émilion classification as Grand Cru Classé as a matter of course. But soon critics voices were raised, which demanded the further upgrade to the extremely limited cate-gory Grand Cru Classé category A. And indeed – with wines that are on a par with the 1er Crus from Pauillac or Margaux, for example, it was so far in 2022, Château Figeac was awarded the category A and the castle thus fi-nally takes its place among the icons of the Bordelais. The Masterclass fol-lows this fabulous rise of Château Figeac to one of the most sought-after and desired Châteaux in Bordeaux, which quickly makes even the youngest vintages rarities. 12 participants per group have the unique opportunity to get to know the exceptional wines of exemplary top vintages such as 2018 or 20210.
