This winery is one of the most exciting and dynamic start-ups ever to hit the German wine scene!

What started out as a hobby enterprise in 2012, with only 1.5 hectares under cultivation, has proved to be the catalyst for one of the most electrifying and rapidly developing wineries in Germany.
Even before the winery was formally established in 2019, Axel Bauer was already committed to the sustainable production of high-quality wines. But it was joining forces with cellermaster Torsten Klein that really saw this winery launch an almost unprecedented quality offensive.
Both protagonists share the same high standards and aspirations, relying on organic farming and strict limitation of yield.
The focus on quality continues during the vinification process, with all operations being carried out as gently as possible. For Torsten Klein, time and spontaneous fermentation are two key factors.
A powerful reflection of their terroir, the wines produced at Weingut Axel Bauer guarantee unadulterated enjoyment. With their strong and individual characters, each wine tells its own exhilarating story.
But they’re not only enjoyable on their own. They really come into their own as the perfect accompaniment to meals, whether you’re serving a hearty snack or the finest haute cuisine.
Despite the relatively short history of this winery, the wines produced by Weingut Axel Bauer have already received numerous ratings in Falstaff and other prestigious wine guides. They are an expression of the full potential of wines from Baden!
