Our aim is to enable as many people as possible to appreciate the fundamental experience inherent in the 1855 classification. Because we are convinced of its intangible value, we want to take it to a more global level. Beneath the apparent homogeneity of the Marquis de Terme<\/strong> terroir lie a few gems. In fact, it\u2019s thanks to the subtlety and complexity of these wines that Marquis de Terme earned Thomas Jefferson recognition in 1787 as one of the 16 best Bordeaux wines and subsequently earned the prestigious 1855 classification as the 4th Grand Cru Class\u00e9<\/strong>. The history of Ch\u00e2teau Marquis de Terme began in 1762, when Mademoiselle Ledoux<\/strong> d\u2019Emplet gave the estate as a dowry to Fran\u00e7ois de Peguilhan, the Marquis de Terme. Our second wine, Marquis de Terme Cuv\u00e9e 1762, is a tribute to this timelessness. It is designed to be the best representation of the personality and character of our terroir.
