Bodega Numanthia
In the heart of the Toro region, on the sun-drenched and rugged lands of Castile and León, Bodega Numanthia embodies the power, resilience, and millennia-old heritage of Spanish viticulture. Established in 1998, the winery takes its name from Numancia, an ancient city famed for its fierce resistance to the Roman Empire—a perfect allegory for these century-old vines rooted in dry, stony soils, defying time and elements.
These Tinta de Toro vines, an ancient and noble expression of Tempranillo, are pre-phylloxera, ungrafted, bush-trained, and dry-farmed. With naturally low yields and exceptional concentration, each grape captures the intensity of the Castilian sun, the rigor of the continental climate, and the authenticity of a wild terroir.
Bodega Numanthia’s wines are dense, structured, and profound, yet always balanced by surprising freshness. Whether it’s the emblematic and powerful Numanthia, the more approachable Termes, or the rare and exquisite Termanthia, each cuvée expresses Toro’s raw and elegant grandeur.
More than a winery, Bodega Numanthia symbolizes heroic viticulture—a pursuit of intensity, truth, and character, where every bottle tells a story of land, silence, and resilience.
