“The sunlight of Saint-Estèphe”, the golden-yellow of Château Lafon-Rochet that is both bold and warm, reflecting those who play a part in the making of its wines, who are guided by commitment and passion.
Château Lafon-Rochet is one of the oldest estates in Saint-Estèphe, with origins dating back to the 16th century.
The 45 hectares of vines span across two hillsides in Saint-Estèphe. On one side, the gravel provides excellent natural drainage, which is optimal for our Cabernet Sauvignon. On the other, the clay regulates natural water reserves and provides our vines a perfect balance.
The vineyard is composed with a majority of Cabernet Sauvignon (48%) and Merlot (45%), complemented by plots of Petit Verdot (3.5%) and Cabernet Franc (3.5%), which add complexity to our wines.
For every vintage we produce, we seek to increase the power and precision of our wines, while keeping elegance as our primary focus.
In 2020, Château Lafon-Rochet began its conversion to organic agriculture, a decision accompanied by the implantation of an extensive agroecology program.
In December 2021, Château Lafon-Rochet was acquired by Vignobles Cruse-Lorenzetti, whose portfolio also includes Château d’issan in Margaux, Château Pédesclaux in Pauillac and Château Lilian Ladouys in Saint-Estèphe.
The arrival of Christophe Congé as Managing Director in 2022 marks a significant development in our quest for excellence, with his expertise and deep understanding of Médoc soils.
