Château Sociando-Mallet is located in the commune of Saint-Seurin-de-Cadourne, around ten kilometres North of Pauillac, in the appellation of Haut-Médoc.
In 1969, while looking for a property for a Belgian customer, Jean Gautreau came across Château Sociando-Mallet. He fell in love with the property that was in very bad state but boasted a breathtaking view over the Gironde estuary and an amazing terroir. He immediately decided to buy the estate for himself.
Today, on a vineyard stretching over 82 ha, the property produces nearly 500 000 bottles annually of Château Sociando-Mallet and its second wine, the Demoiselle de Sociando-Mallet.
Sylvie Gautreau, Jean Gautreau’s daughter has managing the estate since 2015.
