To the south of the Pauillac municipality in Médoc is the majestic location of Château Pichon Longueville
Comtesse de Lalande. It has been classified as “Grand Cru Classé” since 1855. The Château experienced its high points in the mid-19th century, when it was acquired by the Countess of Lalande, Virginie de Pichon Longueville. Under her aegis, the Château was included in the famous classification of 1855, in which it was immediately classified as a Deuxième Cru Classé. Since 2007, the Château has been under the ownership of the champagne house Louis Roederer. Experts have long thought Pichon Comtesse belongs at the level of a Premier, affectionately referring to it as the super-Second of Pauillac. The wines have exceptional elegance, balance and finesse.
