Cognac Frapin

Cognac Frapin stands for over 750 years of family tradition and is considered one of the most renowned Cognac houses in France. Since 1270, the Frapin family has been based in the Grande Champagne region and today cultivates 240 hectares of vineyards – the largest single estate in this Premier Cru area. Every step, from harvest to distillation to aging, takes place exclusively on their own estate, Château Fontpinot near Segonzac.

What sets Frapin apart is its complete control over the entire production process. Distillation is carried out on the fine lees, giving the Cognacs remarkable depth and complexity. Aging takes place in dry cellars using Limousin oak barrels, which brings out elegant aromas and the characteristic rancio note, especially appreciated in well-aged Cognacs.

The range extends from the versatile entry-level Cognac “Frapin 1270” to exclusive rarities like “Plume,” a tribute to their famous ancestor François Rabelais, or “Extra,” awarded Best XO Cognac at the World Cognac Awards 2021. Each cuvée reflects the house’s philosophy: the fusion of terroir, craftsmanship, and time.

Cognac Frapin stands out through its deep historical roots, uncompromising quality, and fully integrated production. For connoisseurs and professionals alike, the house offers an authentic and distinctive Cognac experience, where tradition and innovation blend harmoniously.
