Château du Tertre
Bordeaux, France

On nearly 50 hectares, approximately 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Petit Verdot are cultivated. Château du Tertre has been classified as a Cinquième Cru Classé since the 1855 classification.
Margaux wines are finer and more elegant than those from neighboring appellations such as Saint-Julien, Pauillac, or Saint-Estèphe, and the same holds true for Château du Tertre. The soils in Margaux are lighter than in the rest of the Médoc, with higher sand and limestone content within the classic gravelly Médoc terroir. The Château is situated on the gravel plateau of Margaux, at the highest point of the appellation.
The harvest at Château du Tertre is, of course, done by hand, and only the finest grapes are used for winemaking. Château du Tertre wines are typically characteristic of Margaux, with lovely red and black fruit aromas, displaying a playful charm. At the same time, the Grand Vin of Château du Tertre always remains harmonious, complex, and multi-layered.
