As an IHK-certified sommelier (German Chamber of Commerce and Industry), she was awarded the title “Champagne Ambassador of Germany“ in a European competition run by the “Comité Interprofessionnel du Vin de Champagne“ (French champagne trade association) in 2012. Gerhild works with winegrowers’ associations at home and abroad, organises wine tours and is also an independent wine consultant, taster, writer, lecturer, facilitator and travel organiser.

With the launch of the International Sparkling Wine Festival in 2017, Gerhild is bringing sparkling wine to both a wider specialist audience and wine lovers alike. Her Sparkling Wine Symposium in collaboration with the University of Geisenheim delves into the science behind the production of sparkling wine in the future.
