Il Marroneto is one of the historical wineries of Montalcino, renowned in Italy and around the world.
The first vineyard was planted by Alessandro Mori together with his brother, in 1975. The second one in 1976, and all the rest in 1983. The estate is composed by 10 hectares of which 6 are grown with vineyards, located in the North side of Montalcino facing North. Only Sangiovese is grown at Il Marroneto.
In 1996 selection Madonna delle Grazie is born, taking its name from the little church located inside the estate, bottled for the first time in 2000.
«I am a winegrower, I see in the grape the end of my work and in the cellar I try to preserve this amazing gift of the soil as much as I can. I don’t want to be too invasive, trying not to bend to my will what mother nature gave me».
So Alessandro Mori, owner of Il Marroneto, defines himself.
Since 1975 Alessandro works in his own winery, representing its “historical memory” as he took part in every change and in the evolution of the estate during the years.
