Founded in 1973 in Napa Valley, Joseph Phelps Vineyards is the realization of a passionate, pioneering, and perfectionist man’s vision. Early on, Joseph Phelps recognized the extraordinary potential of this then-emerging region and set out to create Bordeaux-inspired blends with a deep respect for the land and time.​

The estate first gained acclaim with Insignia, a now-legendary wine recognized as one of the New World’s greatest red blends. From its inaugural 1974 vintage, Insignia stood out for its depth, complexity, and refinement—embodying Napa’s noblest excellence.​
