Natalie Lumpp

Sommelière

Born in the German state of Baden-Württemberg, Natalie Lumpp has become a leading protagonist in the German wine sector. And it’s not solely due to her female charms and attractive looks – her popularity stems from the skills and competence acquired at some of the best addresses in southern Germany. She is a top name on Germany’s wine scene.
As a sommelière, she has worked in first-class locations including the Traube Tonbach, Hotel Bareiss and Schlosshotel Bühlerhöhe. International stars such as Boris Becker, Placido Domingo and Nelson Mandela have been guests of Natalie Lumpp, and have enjoyed the fine wines she has recommended.
This likeable figure quickly attracted the attention of the media, winning the Baden Wine Competition in 1993 and the Trophée Ruinart in 1997, leading to the title of “Germany’s Best Sommelier”. Natalie Lumpp is now a freelance wine consultant. One of the secrets to her success: enjoyment of life’s pleasures, because: “Those who can’t enjoy, bring no joy to others.” This is part of Natalie’s philosophy of life. It’s her love of wine and indulgence that make the opinions of the 52-year-old so fascinating for experts and laymen alike. She writes regular columns for newspapers and magazines and is a well-known face on German TV, making appearances on channels including ARD, RTL, SWR, MDR, WDR and Saarländischer Rundfunk.
For example, she was a jury member on “Grill den Henssler” on VOX and one of the three experts for “Die Quiz-Helden – Wer kennt den Südwesten?” on SWR. Natalie is also a regular feature of the “ARD-Buffet” and “Kaffee oder Tee” on SWR. On top of all this, Natalie Lumpp acts as a wine consultant for Aldiana and the “Radio Regenbogen Harald Wohlfahrt Palazzo” in Mannheim. Since 2017, she is also active as a wine tester for Gault Millau. In November 2021, she was named “Indulgence Ambassador of the state of Baden-Württemberg”.
