Quinta do Crasto-Schmuckbild

The history of the Quinta do Crasto winery, owned by the Roquette family, dates all the way back to 1615. Covering 135 hectares, including 74 hectares of vineyard, the estate is situated on the right bank of the Douro between Régua and Pinhão. Here, some of the oldest and most historic vineyards in the Douro Valley produce premium and super premium Douro and port wines. Steep slopes, schist soils and traditional native grape varieties characterise the vineyards around Quinta do Crasto’s main building.

There are more vineyards in the Douro Superior area, a zone located in the far east of the Douro region on the Spanish border. The climate here is largely continental, with very hot summers.

The use of traditional “lagares” (open granite tanks for fermentation) combined with state-of-the-art vinification is emblematic of Quinta do Crasto’s approach, combining the idea of terroir with a modern style of wine.
It’s a methodology that has been rewarded with numerous international awards. The wines are known for their stability and depth in structure and aroma.
