No other wine village has quite as much of the Black Forest to offer as Sasbachwalden. It’s situated on the slopes of the Black Forest mountains. Uniquely located at a thousand metres above sea level, it lies at the foot of Hornisgrinde, mountain, the highest peak in the Northern Black Forest. It’s also home to ALDE GOTT. For over 70 years now, the winemakers here have cooperated together to cultivate grapes on the southern slopes of the Black Forest, in a striking embodiment of the communal principle.

Throughout all the phases of our winemaking process, we have one clear guiding maxim:
“Only wines that reflect the characteristics, bouquet and typical natures of our grape varieties and terroir are allowed to leave our premises”.

With their residual granite soils, the ALDE GOTT vineyards boast everything the grapes need to develop their own typical character. Wonderfully fresh white wines and top-notch reds flourish in this favourable environment. Pinot Noir is grown on 53% of the total cultivated area. Other varieties grown include Riesling, Pinot Gris, Müller-Thurgau, Pinot Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc and Gewürztraminer.

The terms EINBLICK (INSIGHT), AUSBLICK (OUTLOOK) and WEITBLICK (FORESIGHT) are not simply a tribute to our region’s breath-taking scenery.

EINBLICK – INSIGHT
Wines for everyday enjoyment. Regional classics, with characteristic attributes, and not too heavy.

AUSBLICK – OUTLOOK
Dry wines aged in large oak barrels. Given time to mature, the reward for patience and hard work.

WEITBLICK – FORESIGHT
People climbing to the summit of a mountain enjoy the best panoramic view. White and red wines from barrique barrels, produced from carefully selected, reduced-yield vines.
