Château Pédesclaux

Bordeaux
Pauillac, France

Château Pédesclaux, 5th Grand Cru Classé 1855, was created in 1810 by Urbain Pierre Pédesclaux, winebroker in Bordeaux.
The Family Lorenzetti decided to buy Château Pédesclaux on the 30th of September 2009.
In order to give it a new impetus, the family collaborated with the famous architect Jean-Michel Wilmotte, who designs with purity, simplicity and an aesthetic transparency, which defines the overall allure of the gravity-flow estate.
In 2012, trials in organic and biodynamic viticulture as well as environmentally friendly practices were put into place. It is quite natural then, that as of 2019, we acquired an AB (Organic Agriculture) certification for our wines, a label guaranteeing a respect and quality of the soil, biodiversity, water, air, human beings and of course, the end product. This is a commitment that is guided by our ethics and our quest for excellence. After extensive restructuring work on the vineyard, the grape varieties have been re-balanced and today account for 57% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc and 4% Petit Verdot. Château Pédesclaux now has 50 hectares, located in the heart of the prestigious Pauillac terroir. Its land constitutes deep gravel, where clay and limestone are sometimes mixed. The typicality of the Pauillac terroir is thus highlighted by this eco-citizen approach and a constantly renewed desire to improve the taste and quality of our wines.
