The Domaine de Savagny was founded more than 30 years ago by Claude Rousselot-Pailley, and taken over some fifteen years later by Maison du Vigneron. It lies nestled between Château-Chalon, at the historic heart of the Jura winegrowing area, and Baume Les Messieurs, one of the region’s leading tourist attractions. The vine plots are distributed across the districts of Lavigny and Passenans, with terroirs featuring clay and limestone soils, plus marl soils on the lower-lying slopes. Domaine de Savagny covers 45 hectares in the appellations of Côtes du Jura and Château Chalon, where Chardonnay and Pinot Noir are planted, together with the three native varieties Savagnin, Poulsard and Trousseau. The vines notably produce grapes for the two crown jewels of the Jura, Vin Jaune and Vin de Paille. From planting right through to vinification, we perform all our tasks with passion and in line with the traditions of the Jura region. With know-how and expertise acquired over many years of dedicated work, our oenologists and cellar masters are able to grow outstanding grapes and turn them into top-class wines and Crémants.
