The Hofstätter winery was established back in 1907 and, with 50 hectares under vine, is today one of South Tyrol’s largest wineries. But this winery is all about producing class, not mass! Martin Foradori spent a long time studying his vineyard locations to determine where which varietal would find the best conditions. He did not hesitate either to relocate entire vineyards, if the match was not perfect. He therefore opted for many years not to make single-varietal Sauvignon Blanc until, following the replanting of the vineyard at Oberkerschbaumer Hof, the vines finally produced the desired quality in 2003. The varietal wines stand out due to the clearly distinctive character of the varietal and perfectly reflect their origin. Minerality, complexity and even the cool mountain breezes can be detected in the glass!
