Van Zellers & Co is a family-owned Port and Douro DOC company, with a history that dates to 1620. With 400 years in the wine trade, 2020 was a challenging yet important year for us, as it marked the relaunch of Van Zellers & Co, inspired by our past, thought out for the future and sustained by Cristiano van Zeller’s deep knowledge of the region. 14th generation in the wine trade, Cristiano has dedicated his life to the Douro and its wines, first at his family estate Quinta do Noval, then in the development of different projects in the region, namely Quinta Vale D. Maria until 2020. Today the company also counts with Francisca van Zeller in Marketing and Exports and João van Zeller in national sales.

Van Zellers & Co focuses on producing top-quality premium wines and Ports from vineyards that best express the traditions and diversity of the Douro region and maintains its young spirit through dynamic and creative exchange of ideas, partnerships and associations. We practice regenerative viticulture, taking many lessons from ancient practices. Our work focuses on preserving the balance of the soil as the basis for healthy vines and their surrounding environment. The quality of the more than 35 grape varieties is then best expressed in our wines Crafted by Nature, Crafted by Hand or Crafted by Time.

Van Zellers & Co yearly bottlings of Ports are pre-defined and limited in quantity to maintain the high quality and ageing of each style. The bottlings of Douro DOC wines are limited by nature and to what each vineyard produces. The company currently has 16 hectares of vineyards on the banks of the River Torto, Vale do Pinhão and Murça, and in 2022 produced a total of 57,000 bottles.
