Villa Santo Stefano – Tuscan Elegance Meets Baden Culinary Culture

Villa Santo Stefano is a Tuscan boutique winery located near Lucca, nestled in idyllic rolling hills with breathtaking views of the plains and the city. The historic estate, once owned by the Bertolli family—renowned for their olive oil tradition—was acquired in 2001 by Wolfgang Reitzle, an internationally acclaimed top executive, together with his wife, the well-known presenter and journalist Nina Ruge.

With great passion and a commitment to the highest quality, the couple transformed the historic estate into a technologically pioneering winery in collaboration with renowned oenologists. Today, approximately 60,000 bottles of organic wine are produced annually across 6.5 hectares in Lucca and 22 hectares in Maremma—comprising four red wines, one white, and one rosé. The assortment is complemented by a high-quality, organic DOP olive oil.

In wine production, the emphasis is placed on quality over quantity. The grapes flourish in diverse terroirs, giving the wines a remarkable depth and complexity. The flagship of the estate is the elegant and complex Supertuscan “Loto”—a refined Bordeaux-style cuvée.
