Dottinger Castellberg

The Martin Waßmer winery is located in Baden, in the wine-growing region of Markgräflerland.
Since 1997, Martin Waßmer has been crafting his wines. His passion for great Burgundy wines was sparked by an internship in Burgundy, which fueled his ambition to focus heavily on Burgundian-style wines.
Over the years, a distinctive style has emerged—clearly influenced by Burgundy yet uniquely his own—giving the wines a refined character.
“Working in harmony with nature and emphasizing the specific terroir is the guiding principle.”
In the steep vineyards, such as Dottinger Castellberg, Schlatter Maltesergarten, Ehrenstetter Ölberg, and Roter Bur in Glottertal, some vines are as old as 40 years. Pinot Noir represents the primary grape variety at the winery, accounting for 60% of the total, followed by Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, and Chardonnay.
Thanks to the diversity of vineyard locations and soil compositions, the wines display an impressive array of unique and characterful expressions.
