The winery was founded in 1971 by Arnaldo Caprai. In 1988 the company passed in the hands of Marco Caprai. The incredible value and strong character of the native Montefalco Sagrantino and the other indigenous varieties helped creating a recognizable brand in territory traditionally dedicated to quality wine making. The continued pursuit of excellence, combined with a strong commitment to research cemented the international fame of the native grape Sagrantino di Montefalco.

We are convinced that the production of a wine is a fascinating synergy of tradition, research and experimentation. Sagrantino is the essence of this philosophy and fully interprets all its facets. The Sagrantino grape, geographically and genetically unique, has an authentic, rich and overwhelming character. Over the years we have deepened our knowledge and we have always discovered new resources and potential. Research and experimentation have allowed us to achieve exceptional qualitative richness for Sagrantino and for the other wines we produce. We have always preserved the indigenous heritage of our vines alongside them in the form of dynamic and modern agriculture.

Our consulting experience with Michel Rolland began with the 2015 harvest. Rolland is undoubtedly a name of great importance in the world of wine that does not go unnoticed. The collaboration was born from a mutual interest in accepting a challenge. Rolland was intrigued by a variety he had never experienced and we in turn benefited from his great experience and his international point of view. The result …. a fascinating and exceptional synergy.
