Champagne Pommery – Passion, finesse and elegance

Pommery has always stood for enjoyment and a naturally lively style of champagne full of passion, finesse and elegance.

The house lives and breathes tradition and innovation – with a commitment to sustainable cultivation and respect for nature and the climate. In 2021, Pommery became the first champagne house to commit to complete sustainability by 2030.

Madame Pommery laid the foundation for the development of the house in 1868. In July of that year, she launched the ‘construction project of the century’. She had the historic Roman tunnels, located in the chalky soil beneath Reims, converted into the largest ageing cellars in Champagne, thus laying the foundation for the unique Domaine Pommery.

Since 2015, the cellars of the Domaine Pommery have been part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. With a length of 18 kilometres, they store 25 million bottles of champagne. Together with the annually changing art exhibitions, they form the heart of the Domaine.

However, Madame Pommery’s creative phase was not over yet. In 1874, she succeeded in bottling the first dry champagne. The Brut style was born and has been a triumph ever since. 97% of all champagne drunk is Brut champagne, and last year Champagne Pommery celebrated the 150th anniversary of the invention of Brut champagne.

Cellar master Clément Pierlot continues this legacy with passion. He combines craftsmanship, innovation and a love of nature – giving every Pommery champagne its unmistakable signature.
