Château Canon La Gaffelière is one of the leading estates in Saint-Émilion. Owned by the von Neipperg family since 1971, the estate underwent major modernization under Count Stephan von Neipperg beginning in 1985 and became a pioneer of biodynamic viticulture in Bordeaux. Its promotion to Premier Grand Cru Classé status in 2012 highlights its growing international reputation. Today, Ludovic von Neipperg, as Technical Director, continues to implement the family’s philosophy with dedication.

The 19.5-hectare vineyard is cultivated entirely using organic methods. Sustainability, careful hand-harvesting, selective sorting, and gentle vinification characterize every step from vine to bottle. The vineyard lies at the foot of a slope south of Saint-Émilion, on well-draining clay-limestone and clay-sand soils known for their excellent heat retention. These soils encourage deep root growth and ensure balanced nutrition, even in dry years.

With around 40% Cabernet Franc, complemented by Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, the wines offer a style that is both powerful and elegant. They display great aromatic depth, precise structure, and remarkable freshness.
