Domaine de Chevalier – Biodynamic Excellence from Pessac-Léognan

Domaine de Chevalier is one of the most historic estates in Bordeaux and has held the title of Grand Cru Classé de Graves since the 1953 classification – for both red and white wines. Its origins date back to the 17th century. Under the management of the Bernard family, who have owned the estate since 1983, Domaine de Chevalier has become a flagship of quality winemaking in Pessac-Léognan.

Particularly noteworthy is the estate’s consistent conversion to biodynamic farming: today, 67 hectares are cultivated with the utmost respect for nature, terroir, and tradition. The estate’s philosophy is evident in every detail – from low yields and meticulous hand harvesting to gentle vinification. The result is wines of great depth, elegance, and aging potential.

The red wine typically presents aromas of dark berries, fine spices, and a structured tannin profile. The white wine – a blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon – delights with freshness, citrus notes, and mineral tension. Both styles impressively reflect the estate’s exceptional terroir.

For those seeking Bordeaux with distinction, Domaine de Chevalier offers a rare combination of character, finesse, and sustainability – a true insider’s tip among the Grands Crus Classés.
