Konstantin Baum

Master of Wine
Germany’s youngest-ever Master of Wine IWSC/WSET's Future 50 Award Winner
Konstantin has travelled thousands of kilometres in his life, been up to his knees in grape juice in New Zealand, talked shop with Bono and The Edge about Bordeaux in Dublin, studied wine business in the Rheingau, traded in the most expensive drops in London, and canvassed (almost) every winery in California. He shares his stories with one of the largest online wine communities.
In 2015, Konstantin became the youngest-ever German Master of Wine, joining a select worldwide circle of only 420 people across 30 countries. Becoming Master of Wine, often abbreviated to "MW", is the crowning glory for wine experts, with fewer than 10% of candidates passing the tough exams. In 2019, he was the only German to be named by the WSET and IWSC as one the 50 greatest talents in the wine, spirits and sake industries.
His mission is to make sure that "the world tastes better" – by shaping the choice of wines on offer and improving people's ability to appreciate wine. In fulfilling his mission, he runs the online trading company baumselection.com, manages the wine program of one of the best hotels in Germany – Brenners-Park Hotel in Baden-Baden – and gives lectures for organisations such as the California Wine Institute, Vins Centre Loire, Prosecco and BMW.
He regularly communicates with his more than 30,000 followers on Instagram, and operates one of the biggest wine channels in the world on YouTube, boasting over 100,000 subscribers and several million views.
