Mas d’en Gil is an agricultural estate located in Bellmunt del Priorat, at the South of the D.O.Q.PRIORAT. It was owned by the Scala Dei Charterhouse since the 12th century, forming part of thehistoric Priorat. Francesc Gil Borràs, one of the first Catalan oenologists, founded the winery in 1867, giving it his name. The Rovira Carbonell family, with 4 generations in the world of wine, has been producing the fruits of this estate since 1998. Preserving the biodiversity of this agricultural site is one of MAS d’en GIL’s fundamental objectives.
Located on top of a hill, it becomes a balcony to the south of Priorat with beautiful views of the entire region.
Its landscape becomes the essence of the Mediterranean: holm oak and pine forests surround vineyards, centuries-old olive trees and almond trees.
The diversity of terroires allows the production of red and white wines within the DOQ PRIORAT, organic wines following the biodynamic method.
