Nonino Distillatori

The Nonino family has been dedicated to the art of distillation since 1897. On December 1st, 1973, Giannola and Benito Nonino invented the first single-varietal grappa, the Monovitigno® Nonino, which would revolutionize the world of distillation forever. The Nonino distilleries consist of five artisan distilleries, each equipped with 12 discontinuous copper steam stills. The unique grappas and spirits of the Nonino distilleries are produced using traditional family methods and artisanal techniques.

On November 27th, 1984, Benito and Giannola initiated a new milestone. They distilled the skins, pulp, and juice of the grapes in a single process. This resulted in the creation of the grape distillate ÙE®.

On November 29th, 1975, Giannola and Benito Nonino established the International Nonino Prize to promote and preserve rural culture.

On September 19th, 2007, the first Nonino Cocktail Competition took place in Percoto. This competition awards the best cocktail made with grappa.

In September 2017, Grappa Nonino began supporting P(our), a non-profit organization created by members of the bartender community with a thirst for knowledge: Alex Kratena, Simone Caporale, Monica Berg, Xavier Padovani, Jim Meehan, Joerg Meyer, and Ryan Chetiyawardana.

In January 2020, Nonino was named “Best Distillery in the World” by Wine Enthusiast as Spirit Brand/Distiller of the Year 2019.
