SOMMCADEMY was founded in 2022 by Timo Bausch with the aim of sharing his passion for water with the world. Since then, he has been offering enjoyable tastings centered around unique mineral waters – often in combination with wine.

Whether for companies, wineries, or private enthusiasts, SOMMCADEMY creates one-of-a-kind tasting experiences and conveys sensory knowledge in an entertaining way.

Visitors can also experience this directly at the booth: Timo Bausch and Eugen Gabriel Axinte-Szakacs will demonstrate the fascinating interplay between water and wine using selected international mineral waters and two elegant, characterful wines. A true experience for all the senses.

Timo Bausch

Timo Bausch is a certified water sommelier and the founder of SOMMCADEMY. He completed his training as a water sommelier in 2017 at the Doemens Academy. In 2022, he was honored by the Water Sommelier Union as “Mineral Water Sensor Expert of the Year.” As the founder of SOMMCADEMY, he shares his passion for the diversity and uniqueness of mineral waters by offering tastings, training sessions, and consulting services – aiming to raise awareness for the sensory properties of water.

Eugen Gabriel Axinte-Szakacs

Eugen Gabriel Axinte-Szakacs is a versatile certified sommelier from Romania with specializations in water, wine, and beer. His career has taken him to various countries, reflecting his passion for communication, languages, and intercultural exchange. As a multidisciplinary sommelier and ambassador, Eugen is deeply dedicated to high-quality beverages. He is also recognized as an Italian Wine Ambassador (IWA) and is actively engaged in the international wine community.
