Exceptional wines between Germany and Luxembourg. The southern Mosel – surprisingly different!

Weingut Fürst is a vibrant family-run winery located in the southern Mosel, near Trier. Michi Fürst is the winemaker and owner. Here, on the lower course of the Sauer River, the picturesque border between Germany and Luxembourg, he cultivates his vineyards with great passion and dedication.

He is committed to quality and is not afraid to shake things up. Having grown up surrounded by nature and a large, diverse family, he cooks, works with wood, builds, plants, and toils. From this vibrant way of life and his keen sense of detail, he draws inspiration for his wonderful wine creations. One thing he has never given up: creative breaks. Preserving tradition, but always with a fresh twist!

“Native Wine Character” – This is what defines Weingut Fürst. Largely untouched by tourism, unique and lesser-known grape varieties thrive here, such as Auxerrois and Elbling. Auxerrois is a wonderfully complex rarity with low acidity, cultivated today by only a few winemakers. Elbling, undisputedly the oldest grape variety in Europe, delights with its youthful freshness.

In addition to these hidden gems, the region also produces well-known grape varieties such as Pinot Gris (Grauburgunder), Pinot Blanc (Weißburgunder), and Chardonnay, characterized by an exceptional minerality shaped by the shell limestone soil.
