Weingut-Kodolitsch_Schmuckbild
The Kodolitsch winery encompasses about 16 hectares of vineyards in »controlled-integrated viticulture« – a near-natural production method for the development of high-quality grapes. »Careful treatment of our production source – nature – and deliberately restrained influence on the environment is just as important to us as quality consciousness in wine production.« The grape yield is reduced in order to keep the quality of vines and grapes as high as possible. In the vineyards at Rosengarten and Kogelberg, the varieties Welschriesling, Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Gelber Muskateller and Riesling flourish and thrive.

A MATURE, HEALTHY AND FLAWLESS GRAPE IS CRUCIAL!
We have always known that wines are created in the vineyard and not in the cellar. Once the grapes have been picked, it’s too late to improve them. Working in the cellar, we can merely try to retain as much of the grape and the terroir as possible. We place no great emphasis on our work in the cellar. Our focus is on patiently trying to vinify our grapes in as pristine a form as possible!

We strive to maintain a balance that allows the ecosystem of soil and vineyard to be self-regulating. Partner crops such as legumes are sown between the vines to promote their growth. Together with the soil and climate, these partners are capable of providing vines with the necessary nutrients – without any further intervention by the winemakers.
