Based in Senftenberg, in Austria’s Krems Valley, Martin Nigl cultivates some 25 hectares of vineyards in the surrounding area.
The estate’s winegrowing sites are scattered over a wide area, with some located in the Krems Valley and others in the town of Krems itself. This leads to significant diversity in the characteristics of the wines.
Their typically delicate bouquet and elegant acidity can be attributed to the region’s weathered primitive rock soils.
In addition to the natural properties of the sites cultivated by Martin Nigl, the constantly high quality of his wines is made possible through hard pruning of the vines, careful foliage work, thinning out and late harvesting.

Vinification takes place predominantly in steel tanks, and the wines are bottled early on in order to retain as much of their authentic vigour and freshness as possible.
