Winery Walter Glatzer founded the then very small winery in 1987. Today, we cultivate both red and white wine on 33-hectares of vineyard. The red vines clearly outnumber the white ones. The character of the wines is shaped by nature and technology. By technology, we don’t mean artificial gimmicks, but rather the latest quality assurance measures. Thanks to state-of-the-art cellar technology, we can ensure rapid processing and controlled hygiene, providing the best conditions for high-quality and straight wines. Nevertheless, the biggest part of the work is done in the vineyard, because healthy vineyards and high-quality grape material are the cornerstone of every excellent wine.
Our family business places great emphasis on responsible and sustainable use of nature, and has therefore opted for organic farming, with certification since 2018. Since 2017, our winery has also been a member of the Austrian Traditional Wineries, so we are increasingly focusing on site-specific wines. Our goal is to produce individual and terroir-typical wines. But above all, the Zweigelt grape is very important to us in all stages of the quality pyramid, as this variety is perfect for producing terroir-typical wines.
