“by Tristan Brandt” Germany Michelin Guide: 1 star (2014) Michelin Guide: 2 stars (2016-2020)Tristan Brandt (39) is a top chef, and was once the youngest in Germany to be awarded two Michelin stars. He is also a culinary consultant and entrepreneur in the field of gourmet activities and events, both in Germany and abroad. Under the “by Tristan Brandt” label, Tristan takes on the role of restaurant patron, promotes young talent and organises top-rank gourmet festivals such as the Waldhaus Flims Festival of Arts in Flims, Switzerland and the Pfalz Gourmet Festival in Deidesheim, Germany. He represents a modern French-based cuisine with Asian influences. Tristan Brandt is a promoter of young talented chefs, who he trains and integrates into his culinary projects. In the course of his career to date, Tristan Brandt has worked for Michelin-starred chefs such as Harald Wohlfahrt***, Dieter Müller***, Jean-Georges Klein***, Stefan Stiller***, Jordi Cruz***, Herbert Brockel* and Manfred Schwarz*. In 2012, he gained his Master Chef qualification at the renowned hotel management school in Heidelberg within the remarkably brief period of three months. At the beginning of 2013, he embarked on a culinary journey around the world on the MS Europa cruise ship, working for Dieter Müller. After this experience, the next important career milestone came when he was recommended to Richard Engelhorn, head of the eponymous fashion house in Mannheim, as the perfect person to run the top-class restaurant Engelhorn had always wanted to set up. Together with Richard Engelhorn, Tristan opened the gourmet restaurant OPUS V, for which he was soon awarded 2 Michelin stars and 18 Gault&Millau points, a remarkable accolade for such a young chef. He also became Managing Director of the newly founded engelhorn Gastro GmbH. Tristan Brandt assumed responsibility for 130 members of staff and 9 gastronomy operations, two of which were Michelin-starred restaurants (OPUS V**, and Le Corange*). In 2020, he became Managing Director of the Restaurant 959 and Pino´s Bar in Heidelberg. At the end of the same year, he became patron for the gourmet restaurant “epoca by Tristan Brandt“ at the 5-star superior Hotel Waldhaus Flims Wellness Resort. Niklas Oberhofer, his head chef at epoca was awarded a Michelin star and 17 Gault&Millau points in 2022. The next gastronomic project followed in October of 2022, when the gourmet restaurant “Riva by Tristan Brandt” opened its doors in Pforzheim. In December 2022, Tristan Brandt further expanded his international culinary portfolio in collaboration with the Carillon Miami Wellness Resort, launching the new fine dining concept “Tambourine Room by Tristan Brandt” in Miami, USA.
