CULINARY DOUBLE – ELSASS MEETS BADEN
Friday, 19 May 2023, 7:30 pm
Theaterkeller, Hommage Hotel Maison Messmer
Culinary greetings from across the Rhine to Baden-Baden in a mixed double of Alsatian tarte flambée and fine wines from the top Baden wineries Kopp and Schloss Neuweier.
Just a few kilometers across the Rhine from Baden-Baden lies Alsace, one of the most beautiful wine-growing regions in Europe, which also boasts many culinary delights.
In the Theaterkeller of the First-Class Hommage Hotel Messmer, one of the most famous and best addresses in Baden-Baden, long-time chef Christian Fritzinger impressively demonstrates that tarte flambée can be much more than “just” a regional Alsatian specialty.
In the beautiful ambience of the historic Theaterkeller, wines from the top Baden wineries Kopp and Schloss Neuweier are served with it. Founded as recently as 1996, Ewald Kopp has catapulted himself among the Baden winemaking elite through rigorous and uncompromising quality management. Kopp’s wines set standards with their clear reference to the terroir of the region. Schloss Neuweier is not only an architectural jewel of the region, it is also one of Baden’s historically significant wineries, as the first Riesling vines were planted here at the beginning of the 17th century. The noblest of the white wine varieties still determines life in this top winery today.
An evening awaits you in the informal atmosphere of the hotel’s theater cellar, where kings, emperors, princes and princes used to celebrate and spend the night, and which today is also frequented by illustrious personalities such as Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton.
